Students’ Dormitory Curfew Policy

     In our university, there is the students’ dormitory curfew policy. For college students, who have ability to deal with things and are responsible for themselves, whether the students’ dormitory curfew policy is appropriate or not. In my opinion, I think it is essential and necessary.
     The most important point in my mind is that the students’ dormitory curfew policy can restrict strangers from passing in and out. It can prevent unknown people who may have illegal thoughts and do something bad. For this reason, it can ensure students’ securities.
     In addition, most of students don’t want to break the regulations and be recorded demerits, so they avoid returning too late and not coming back. Therefore, if students find that their roommates don’t return dormitories on time, they may worry about their roommates. The actions can make they find something abnormal for their roommates much earlier.
     However, for university students, who want to do everything without any restriction. Besides, the students’ dormitory curfew policy confine to coming back on time. It is inconvenient for them to play to the fullest.
     Even though, I think the students’ dormitory curfew policy is important for the sake of students’ securities. To sum up, the advantages are more than adverse effects. Some appropriate limits are beneficial.

Happy Birthday and Summer Plan

     Happy Birthday to myself!! =目 I have grown up and should be responsible for myself. As a result, I have have a plan for my summer vacation.    
     In the summer vacation, I want to arrange my time appropriately. First, because I think I don’t get good grades in my school work, I want to review my studies. In addition, I am not good at listening and speaking, as a result, I want to promote my abilities to listen and to speak. Second, I would like to relax with reading books, drawing, exercising, and eating delicious food. I can fill my leisure time with above things. When it comes to eating delicious food, I have a special plan that I will go to Hsinchu City to visit my roommate. It is wonderful that I can eat cakes until I feel fully but I just need to pay NT260 dollars in a restaurant that my roommate introduces to me. Third, I want to take motorcycle driving license. I have difficulties doing part-time job because most employers are on condition that I need to have motorcycle driving license. Finally, I want to visit my senior high school friends and teachers before the end of my summer vacation.
      At every long break, most people think that there is more time to do the arranged things and are behind the schedule. I am not an exception, so I want to push myself to meet my plans.

Old

When I grow old I’ll keep exercising to stay healthy.

I’ll eat an apple every day to keep the doctor away.

I won’t ever doze off in my chair while I am watching TV or reading books.

I’ll be far away alcohol and cigarette, and I’ll be always conscious and fragrant.

I’ll be in touch with my neighbors, my relatives, and my friends every day. I won’t ever be an eccentric, unsociable, and autistic old man.

I’ll keep kind smile on my face and keep fine sayings and pleasant words. I won’t ever be an old man, who is hard to get along with.

I’ll keep good mood each day. I won’t ever be an emotional old man.

I’ll be an amiable, genial, and approachable old man. In addition, neighbors’ children will frequently come my garden have fun.

I’ll never lie on a hospital bed, and be looked after like a baby.

I’ll prepare my funeral arrangements in advance. I won’t left lots of trifles and troublesome matters to my posterity.

My family is so lovely. It is neat, perfect, and peaceful.

Although there are no many members in my family, my family is harmonious and compatible.

Part-time Jobs

      I think college students should take part-time jobs, because I think it is an important of college life. The most basic reason is money. In college, we have to disburse tuition, living expenses, and other extra cost. However, the total during the years of college is not a low number; we should not all depend on our families. According to a study from Education Research and Evaluation Center in National Taiwan Normal University, majority of students think that the most important factor to taking part-time jobs is economic situation.
     Another reason I support is that it is a chance to learn. With the processes of part-time jobs, we can learn not only the abilities about the jobs but also attitude and the methods of dealing with others. Take me for an example; I have taken a part-time job in a coffee shop for a short time. In addition to the affairs and the ways to make meals, I can also learn how to cope with guests and my co-workers. Therefore, I think we can learn lots of what we cannot learn from textbooks. We may encounter some difficulties and frustrations; however, it is also a good chance to become much stronger and sturdier, isn’t it?
     Finally, taking part-time jobs is beneficial; however, we should estimate our abilities and time. We should not focus on part-time jobs too much to ignore studies and the interaction with classmates. On the premise that we understand what we do and know how we arrange our time, we take part-time jobs.

I Love Reading Books (The Little Prince)

I love reading books.

By reading, I can touch the world of the books.

By reading, I can feel the beating of the books.

In every book, the roles within the books are alive.

The little prince has given me a deep feeling since I was a child.

The little prince reminds me of a child’s innocence.

When I was a child, I just thought that it was a beautiful story.

Up to now, as I grow up, I find that staying innocent is not simple.

Actually, the much more we grow up, the more easily we get lose.

People embrace and pursue their dreams; however, as we accept more things from the reality, we may lose little by little.

The little prince reminds me of what I treasure.

Everything is valuable and unique as long as we treasure it.

The rose which the little prince extremely value is similar to the ordinary things in our daily life.

We can live much happier as long as we value what we have.

The little prince is the book which I love dearly.

It always reminds me of what I have lost for long.

It always gives me the wishes and positive viewpoint.

I love The little prince.

If I Could Go Back in Time

      If I could go back in time and undo one thing I am sorry for or do one thing I should do, I wouldn’t lose my best friend forever.
     On the day I entered elementary school, I was greatly nervous and excited. Everything was so strange and new that I could not steady sit in the car. I leaned against the car door and I was impatient to see the brand-new scenes. At the first moment I stepped into my classroom, I felt suddenly tense and frightened. I had never coped with a great deal of people such as the class; therefore, the lots of unfamiliar faces as well as the new and unknown circumstance abruptly wiped out my expectations and made me have butterflies in my stomach.
      However, a kind girl, sitting beside me, gave me a warm smile and gently talked with me. It was her that alleviated my tension and made me feel better. Little by little, we became best friends and kept no secrets from each other.
      Unfortunately, our friendship was broken for the sake of her white lie. I realized her kindness and consideration; however, I still had a sense of frustration for being lied. Rage blinded my eyes and made me too irrational to think over fact. I was so angry that I said some vicious words, and it made her irate and sorrowful. We started to avoid and ignore each other. Even though I knew the fact and her feeling, I still couldn’t yield to her.
      It was until the day that she transferred to another school and I had no way to see her again, I just felt regretful. The last time we got along with each other was quarrel and disregard. I had caused an irretrievable injury; in addition, I would have no chance to apologize to her and retrieve our friendship.
      It was not until I lost my best friend forever did I understand how important my friends were and that anger would made people irrational. Up to now, I still feel deeply regretful for that. For this reason, I decide not to say anything when I am in a rage for fear that I won’t hurt anyone I value.

Week 9 (2012/4/9-2012/4/15)

How to Make Cakes without an Oven?

     Most people don’t have ovens in the houses so that they can not easily make cakes. Today, I’m going to tell you how to make delicious cakes without an oven.
     The recipe is very simple. You don’t need an oven and a scale. In the beginning, you should prepare some ingredients as below, five eggs, a cup of castor sugar, one and a half of cups of low-gluten flour, three cups of water, and a little butter. In addition, make sure some basic materials should be well prepared. You should prepare an electric pot, an eggbeater, a sieve, and cake moulds. If you don’t have cake moulds, you can replace it with paper cups.
     Now, you can start to make cakes. First of all, put one and a half of cups of water into the electric pot to preheat. Second, put five eggs into a bowl and beat them become stiff. You can use either electric eggbeater or ordinary one. However, using ordinary eggbeater takes much more time and effort. The third step, you should put the castor sugar into the bowl and beat them become white. Afterward, you should sieve the low-gluten flour into the bowl and lightly stir them become well mixed. Then, smear a little butter around the inside of the paper cups and put the mixture into the cake cups. Finally, put one and a half of cups of water and the paper cups into the electric pot. Wait for several minutes; you can enjoy your delicious cakes.

     The recipe is very simple. If you don’t have an oven and want to make cakes, you can try the recipe. In addition, you don’t need to use a scale and other complicated materials. You can make cakes by yourself and enjoy your tea time. Besides, you can also decorate cakes with chocolate sprinkles, raisins, almond pieces, or chocolate cookies to make them more beautiful and tastier and give others as gifts.

Week 7 (2012/3/26-2012/4/1)

My Favorite Illustrator

     My favorite Taiwanese illustrator is Jimmy Liao. I have been loving to read Jimmy’s picture books since I was in junior high school. My art teacher lent some Jimmy’s picture books to me. I have been deeply attracted by the beautiful pictures and the meaningful writing from then on.
     In Jimmy’s works, there are some revealing and positive meanings. After reading Jimmy’s picture books, readers can feel gentle and warm from his paintings. There are unlimited creativity and reflection of his life in his books. How can Jimmy paint so impressive images? How can Jimmy’s picture books attract so numerous readers? It is because that Jimmy had experienced the most frustrated time in his life. On one day ,he unfortunately found that he got Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Then, he had no choice but to undergo some sort of drug therapy and chemotherapy. During the time when he stayed in the hospital, he vomited, fevered, was always in coma, and felt like in a nightmare. The horrifying transition in his life made him treasure the value of life much more and changed his creation style. Take one of my favorite Jimmy’s picture books for an example, A Fish with a Smile, is a symbol of the release of his mind. The picture book not only reminds Jimmy of those days when he was in hospital but also release the desire of telling his story. There is no way to start over again. He wants to value each moment in his life to make his dream come true.
     Jimmy tastes surrounding people and things with his sensitive mind. He conveys his emotions, thoughts and feelings by his books. Jimmy’s picture books are reflects to modern people’s lives; as a result, people can find a warm commitment to spirits from them. It is why Jimmy’s picture books can attract and impress so many readers.

Week 6 (2012/3/19-2012/3/25)

Something I am very Good at

      I like to draw. I like to show my impression and imagination by drawing. I like drawing since I was a child. I think that it have begun from the pictures in fairy tales books or cartoons, which mold the shape of my childhood.
     In my memory, I remember that I always held a pencil and an album of paintings. Sometimes, the walls of my house would be my canvas which I painted on. In the event, the white walls were always gotten dirty, and I was always punished by my father. Even though, I still liked painting on where was blank.
     After I entered high school, I learned more about painting. By the reason, Art was my favorite course. In the Art course, I could learn a wide variety of painting skills and all kinds of painting tools’ usage. In addition, I sometimes took part in the competition of painting or helped arrange my classroom.
     As the saying goes,”Practice makes perfect.” Frequent practice makes my painting skills more advanced. I am not the best but I try my best. I always try my best to finish every work. Sometimes, I have had trouble painting. Besides, I also have faced the bottleneck in painting. Nevertheless, it is the fact that people make progress from every hardship and challenge, isn’t it?
     I don’t want to be a painter; however, I want to keep learning more about painting. I want to learn sketch, watercolor, oil painting, and so on. I think that specialty is rooted in interest and interest is the motivation to learning things.

     I like to draw. Aside from languages and writing, painting is also able to express my mind and my meaning. Painting has great importance of me, it can not only be the communication method of mine but also the way to give vent to my emotion. Just because I have large interest in painting, I can be good at it.

The Hunger Games

When my first read the novels, I can not help but finishing it. I am attracted by it so much. The Hunger Games is amazing and interesting.

The National Volleyball Competition of English Department of University

     YA~!! This weekend is The National Volleyball Competition of English Department of University. The arena is National Central University. Our volleyball is surly not an exception. We all are looking forward to the competition. Finally, we can not win any prize. However, I think the process is the most important and beautiful.

Little Peach Restaurant

     This Thursday, Colleen, Debby, Elsie, Yuia, Julie, and I went to Little Peach Restaurant(小桃子廚房) to enjoy a leisure afternoon time.
     Little Peach Restaurant was a new restaurant in the neighboehood of our college. We had looked forward to the sweet tea time for a long time. Little Peach Restaurant was a small and cute restaurant. There were lots of lovely stuffed animals and beautiful decorations. We were so attracted to it that we take many pictures. We chatted and enjoyed the delicious meals. I was so glad to have a great time with my lovely friends.
     At the beginning of a new semester, we had a nice time.

Week 2 (2012/2/20-2012/2/26)

My Part Time Job

     This week, I start to take my part time job in Han Zhuan(韓饌), a Korean cuisine restsurant. My job time is every weekend. I have to gently deal with guests, give service to order meals, and settle accounts. Though I am not afraid of facing guests, I sometimes feel nervous while facing those guests who are strict. In addition, I should wish dishes, clean up the conditions, and so forth. We should give a nice image of the restaurant.
     I think taking a part job there is a little hard and tired. However, I hope that I could overcome every challenge and difficulty. I want to earn money by myselt, learn to be independent, and lower the dependence upon my family. I will try my best to do it!!
